ABOUT OUR FOUNDATION
Everyone has a dream in life that we hope is fulfilled. When multiple hands unite with the same dream then there is no power on earth which can stop the dream from being realised. The common dream unifying us, a group of friends from REC (now NIT) Silchar 1996 pass out batch, is to make a better India. With the intent of serving the society and giving back to the community we have come together to form this charitable foundation.
It is interesting how this idea came into being. 20 years after we passed out of college we had our first reunion in Goa in 2016 July. During these 20 years all of us tarversed our journeys and achieved whatever we have in life. All of us seemed to have a desire of giving something back to the society and bridging the gap in society in our own humble way. This led to a discussion while we can nake small efforts in individual capacity can we join hands to make a more meaningful and material difference in the lives of some people in the society. But then we went our own ways after the reunion. We had our second reunion in 2017 November where we again discussed about this idea and we felt we need to seriously do something about it. But once again we got busy in our day to day professional and family lives.
We had our third reunion, albeit virtual owing to the Covid situation, in May this year (2020). The plight of humanity, specially the underprivileged, during these distressing times touched all of us. We felt the need that it is now or never - some of us who are more fortunate than others need to take up the responsibility ourselves and do something in whatever way we can for the lesser fortunate ones. And with everyone's support the foundation was formed this year (2020) in August, exactly 4 years after this idea was first mooted. As it takes 4 years for an engineer to graduate, it took us, engineers, 4 years to graduate the idea from concept to realisation.
This foundation has been formed by members of REC Silchar 1996 passout batch with the intent of bridging the gap in society and making a better India. We are counting on everyone's support to make us successful in our objectives.
